In Exodus 33 we read that Moses was facing the greatest challenge of his life.  He had taken charge of leading approximately 2 million people from slavery into freedom.  Basically Moses told God, “Look, this is a huge job and I cannot do it alone…please help!”  God’s response was to promise His constant presence.  When Moses asked to see His glory, God told him, “I will proclaim to you my name, THE LORD, THE LORD!”

When God says his name is THE LORD, he is saying, “I’m it!  I am self existent.  There is no one greater!  I AM, Jehovah God.”  What hope this must have given Moses!  Not only was he not going to have to tackle this assignment alone, but the God of the whole universe was there to back him up.

I love the way God describes himself.  I AM!!  This title leaves no room for discussion.  He simply IS...the Lord, and there is no other.  Jesus said, "All authority is given to me in heaven and earth.”  He is the King over all other kings and the Lord over all other lords.  And because of this, when the name of the Lord Jesus Christ is spoken, everything bows.

The Apostle Paul put it this way (and I’m pretty sure Moses would agree!), “If God be for us, who can be against us?” Let this knowledge bring you the same HOPE today.
