As with everything, Jesus was a pattern and example of how to share the Gospel. Jesus shared his life with those closest to him, as well as with the multitudes. He chose twelve men to train, and then enlarged this circle to include other friends and family members; Lazarus and his sisters, Martha and Mary, Salome, Mary the mother of James, and Mary Magdalene.

He had a broad circle of friends that he shared his life with—men and women from all walks of life; fishermen, publicans, tax collectors, revolutionaries, mothers, homemakers, and even former prostitutes.

It's easy for us to, perhaps unconsciously, categorize people or even disqualify people as those who would never accept the Gospel. But, sometimes it's the ones who have erected the tallest walls whose hearts are desperately crying out for love. These are the ones who desperately need to know the One who created them, and consequently, the only One who can satisfy their empty, needy, and aching heart.

We need to ask the Holy Spirit to open our eyes and to correct our perception of those all around us…those who we may have eliminated as lost causes. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that EVERYONE who believes in him would not perish but have eternal life!”
